Meet the Staff
Dr. Matt Riggsbee, Pastor
I was called as pastor to Jersey Baptist Church January 2016. Since then the Lord has been at
work in tremendous ways in my life and in the life of the church at Jersey. I am passionate about
serving the Lord through the church and the church is passionate about serving the Lord as the
people of God. The way in which we are worshipping the Lord and ministering for the Lord
invigorates me and my family. I focus on sharing the love of Jesus as I collaboratively make
disciples and teach disciples through the church.
I am married to a wonderful wife, Lauren. We have two daughters, Lillian and Penelope. We
enjoy visiting new cities, attending NC State sporting events, and spending time together on the
lake. I also enjoy golfing and reading.
My calling into vocational ministry led me to earn several degrees from Campbell University. I
earned my undergraduate degree from Campbell, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry.
Reverend Megan Gant Hager, Family Minister
My name is Megan Hager. I was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. I was saved and baptized at the age of seven. I was called to the ministry at the age of 21. I attended Liberty University where I got my B.S. in Religion and Christian Ministries. I have worked in the children and youth ministry for four years. I have also been a small group leader, youth volunteer leader and youth intern. This all occurred before I accepted the call to be the Family Minister at Jersey Baptist Church on April 1, 2017.
I have a passion for working with children, families, and youth and I know that is what God has called me to do. I am married to Jared Hager and we are expecting our first child in early February 2018.
Pam Shoaf, Ministry Assistant
I have been the Ministry Assistant at Jersey Baptist Church since 1998. I volunteer as organist of the church and pianist at the Alston Brook Nursing Home. I also lead the handbell choir at the church.
I enjoy camping with my husband, Sammy, and spending time with my grandchildren. I like to read and play with our dachshund, Holly. I always take joy in family get-togethers.
Wendy Milner, Music Director
I have been a member of Jersey Baptist Church for 11 years and am currently filling some of the Music Minister responsibilities by leading the chancel choir. I also lead the preschool choir and help with Mission Friends. I have led the praise team in the past and have also taught Kindergarten, Preschool, and 5th-6th grade Sunday School classes.
I have been married to my husband for ten years and we have two sons. When I am not at church I am running my boys everywhere and going to my oldest son's baseball games. I love to read and have been singing my whole life. My family enjoys going to the beach, mountains, and to look at farm equipment (that's what happens when you have a husband who works on a farm).
